Fundamental IP Relating to siRNAs and their Use as Therapeutics
This IP includes patents and patent applications covering fundamental aspects of the structure and uses of RNAi products, including their use as therapeutics, and of RNAi-related mechanisms. Specifically, it includes patents and patent applications relating to:- Targeted cleavage of mRNA directed by RNA-like oligonucleotides
- Double-stranded RNAs of particular lengths (siRNAs)
- Particular structural features of these siRNAs such as 3' overhangs
- Uses of these siRNAs.
IP Relating to Chemical Modifications of siRNAs
Through an agreement with Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Alnylam can provide licenses to an extremely broad portfolio of 150 issued and additional pending patents covering chemical modifications that can be applied to RNAi therapeutics.
Technology Licenses
Alnylam also offers non-therapeutic license agreements to life science reagent and service providers.
