Alnylam Medical Research Investigator-Initiated Studies

Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) are unsolicited research originating from an external researcher, institution, or organization. These studies may be referred to using other names, including Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT), Investigator Sponsored Trials (IST), or another term that references investigator-initiated or investigator-sponsored research.

 

Alnylam is using SteepRock as an IIS platform, handling IISs from the investigator’s initial request through completion of the study. Note that this portal is not to be used for Grants, Donations, or Charitable Contributions.

 

Established Areas of Research Interest:

Transthyretin-mediated (TTR) amyloidosis, acute hepatic porphyria (AHP), primary hyperoxaluria (PH), Other

Applicant Requirements/Responsibilities:

In order to submit a request for consideration, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

 

  • The requester must be a physician, pharmacist, or researcher, as appropriate to the nature of the research for which support is sought, qualified by training and experience to undertake the proposed research

    If conducting clinical research or research that involves patients, your license is current and may be verified

    You are not excluded, debarred, suspended, or otherwise ineligible to participate in healthcare programs in your country

    You are not an employee of Alnylam or its affiliated entities

  • The requester must be responsible for the research idea, for authoring the study outline/protocol, and for assuming all regulatory obligations
  • The requester should not seek funding for research that would otherwise be undertaken/paid for by his/her institution or that is primarily for the institution’s benefit

Alnylam is committed to supporting the medical and scientific understanding of our therapeutic areas of interest for healthcare professionals.

Alnylam is not obligated to accept any IIS requests, and requestors may not assume a request has been approved until notified. Approved requests are further subject to the execution of an appropriate contract.
